Frequently Asked Questions

Which mobile printers fit the 4" x 6" mobile labels?
Verified: Zebra ZQ630 and ZQ630 Plus, Zebra QLn420, and Zebra QL420 and QL420 Plus. Brother RJ-4250WB and RJ-4230B are likely compatible; we recommend a sample roll first.
Will these work in a Zebra ZQ520, ZQ521 or Honeywell RP4?
Not this size. The roll is about 2.3" (58 mm) across, larger than those printers' 2.25" roll limit. Our 3" x 2" mobile labels (ECOTHERM13110-25) fit them.
Do these fit a Zebra ZQ110, QLn220, Honeywell RP2 or MP Compact 4?
No. The ZQ110, QLn220 and RP2 are too small or too narrow for a 4" label, and the MP Compact 4 Mark III needs a 40 mm core. These rolls use a 0.75" core.
What sensing do these labels use?
Black mark: a black mark printed on the back of the liner. Set your printer to black mark sensing, not gap.
What's the difference between mobile 4" x 6" and desktop 4" x 6" labels?
Mobile 4" x 6" labels use a 0.75" inner core to fit handheld and belt-clip mobile printers, which have smaller media compartments than desktop printers. The label facestock, adhesive, and print quality are identical to the desktop version — only the core size, roll outer diameter and sensing differ (mobile rolls use a black mark on the liner). Don't load 1" core rolls into a mobile printer; the spindle won't fit.
Are these compatible with USPS, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon shipping platforms?
Yes. 4" x 6" is the standard shipping label format for all major US carriers and platforms — USPS, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, ShipStation, Pirate Ship, and others. The labels print barcodes, QR codes, and tracking data from any of these systems with proper printer configuration.
Do I need a ribbon?
No. These are direct thermal labels — the printer's thermal head creates the image directly on the heat-sensitive label. Ribbons are only needed for thermal transfer printers, which mobile printers typically don't support.
